Enjoying the Gospels aims to enable children to approach the Scriptures through their own life experience and come to an understanding of them in a way that is relevant to their lives.
Opportunities are given for children to work individually, in small groups or as a whole class, so that they develop and use many skills as a means to increasing their knowledge and understanding of the four Gospels. Suggestions for co-ordinating and building displays are given together with cross-curricular links such as poetry, story writing, map work, art, music and drama. Various ways for using the Scriptures for prayer and celebration are also indicated. Guided meditations allow the pupils to use their imaginations, to be in touch with their feelings and relate to the Gospels at their own level.
