Road Rising, The
Tony R Woods
THE ROAD RISING is a collection of spiritual applications based on the 35-year ministry of Tony and Marsha Woods.

Since 1968, they have served as youth ministers in Colorado, mission volunteers in Zambia, Liberia, Ethiopia and Hong Kong; and for 20 years the Woods family served as Southern Baptist missionaries in Japan, where they raised two boys and buried one in that beautiful country. Since 1998, they have ministered to Japanese living in Sydney, Australia, and in that capacity have helped to develop a network of Japanese Christians worldwide through JAMN. Following the death of their first born son, Trevor, to leukemia in 1992, Tony wrote the book, LOOKING FOR A LAMB, an allegorical look at the grief process from a Christian perspective. In this, his second book, Christian growth is explored through the similar format of allegory and pilgrimage.

Just as the father in LOOKING FOR A LAMB discovers the love of God while climbing a mountain he has no desire to stand upon, the traveller in THE ROAD RISING must come face to face with virtually every issue of faith during his 12-month trek. In the end, he comes to see his road to the Kingdom as one which 'rises to meet' him as he moves forward, revealing daily lessons of blessing and challenge.
