Job (Evangelical Press Commentary)
Hywel R Jones
Considerable attention has been given to Job in the last hundred years or so. This is largely due to two factors. On the one hand, the horror of two World Wars dealt a severe blow to the optimism with which the 20th century had begun and brought to the fore the reality of suffering and the mystery of evil which culminated with Hiroshima and the Jewish holocaust. On the other, serious attention began to be given to what had been a somewhat neglected field in the scholarly study of the Old Testament namely its Wisdom Literature.

In this new commentary, the author applies both sound understanding of the text with practical application to provide an in-depth, yet readable, work of this popular book.
