This play is based on 1 Corinthians 1:25 – God’s foolishness is wiser that human wisdom. The author uses the Shakespearean device of the wise Fool to bring us face to face to searching questions about ourselves and it is a very effective method. The play is for all ages for the message is also for all ages, and the message is never stifled by the acting for all are invited at some time to join in if they want with the songs. The directions at the start of the book are explicit and set the scene as it were for the actors to be comfortable in their chosen roles. The stage sets are easy enough to produce and can be produced with minimal props but there is also the scope to produce a more lavish production as well. Musical demands are light and the occasional solo can be spoken instead of sung. Overall a play with a message that can easily be performed by varied groups and easily enjoyed by all age groupings.
