This is a book full of blessings, in varied forms and for use on varied occasions.

The first (and largest) section contains Blessings as they are traditionally known - asking for God's favour on people and situations.

The second section contains Graces, which are blessings on meals combined with thanks for God's gifts.

The third section contains Charges, which are words of challenge and encouragement, often (but not necessarily) associated with benedictions or blessings at the close of worship.

The last section contains Doxologies, in which, instead of asking God to bless us, we bless God for his greatness, goodness, love and generosity, with exclamations of praise.

So we come full circle. First God blesses us, then we bless others, then all together we bless God with joyful songs (or shouts) of praise. The circle of blessings is never-ending.
